CONDITIONS AND FAQ
• The International Anton Rubinstein Competition for Violin Junior 2024 will be held by the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein in Düsseldorf on 05.05.2024 at the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein in Düsseldorf.
• Young violinists between 8 and 15 years of age from all nations can participate in this competition.

How do the competitions work? 
• There will be two rounds: the first round and the final, from the final jury will choose the winners.
• The first round will be completed via video link on YouTube. The results will be announced by email on 10.04.2024.
• The final will be held in the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein in Düsseldorf on 05.05.2024.
• The final of the competition is open to the public.
• After the registration period, the names of the candidates who participated in the first round will be published on our website on the date specified in the announcement.
• The jury will decide on the admission of a maximum of 16 candidates to the final after the first round on the date specified in the announcement.
• The order of the candidates’ auditions will be determined by the Anton Rubinstein International Academy of Music.
• The program for the first round can be chosen freely and should last a maximum of 15 minutes.

What happens if I am in the final? 
• The final will take place at the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein in Düsseldorf on May 05, 2024.
• All names of the finalists will be published on our website on the dates specified in the announcement.
• The candidates will be informed by e-mail that they are in the final.
• The finalists have to perform a program of maximum 15 minutes. The repertoire for the final can be chosen freely and can be repeated from the first round.
• In case of exceeding 15 minutes of audition time, the jury reserves the right to cancel the performance.
• For the final, participants may arrive with their own pianistic accompaniment. The piano accompaniment can be provided by the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein upon prior request. The amount due for this, 100 €, includes a 20-minute rehearsal with the pianist and the performance at the competition (payable after admission to the 2nd round).
• The announcement of the results of the competition, as well as the awarding of prizes and certificates will take place on Sunday, 05.05.2024 at around 18:00.
• It is compulsory for all participants to be present at the announcement of the results.

What happens if I am not in the final? 
• All candidates in the first round will receive a certificate of participation by email.

What are the prizes?  
• The results of the final round will be announced by e-mail to the winners on the date specified in the call for entries and published on our website and social media channels.
• All finalists will receive a certificate documenting the competition award by email.
• All other finalists will receive a certificate via email that they participated in the final round.
• In 2024, the following prizes will be awarded in the competition:

1st prize – €1000, donated by Jason Price, Tarisio Auctions.
2nd prize – 750 €, donated by the Blatow Foundation
3rd prize -500 € , donated by the Anton Rubinstein International Academy of Music.

• The finalists of the competition will have the opportunity to borrow the Italian violin and the French violin bow of the Blatov Foundation. These are a 3/4 violin by Carlo Bergonzi II from 1780 in Cremona, a violin by Bernardo Calcagno from 1743 in Genoa, a violin bow by Eugène Sartory and a 3/4 violin bow by Louis Morizot.

How can I register for the competition?
• To register, candidates need the following documents:
– Biography (in Word only)
–  Photo
– Video links (YouTube only)
– Proof of payment of the participation fee (PayPal or bank transfer only).
The participation fee is 100 € (Early Booking 80 € until the date published in the announcement). The participation fee is to be paid exclusively via PayPal (here) or the following bank account:

• When making payment, it is essential to state the full name of the participant(s) and the desired competition.
• The participation fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.

How should I make the recording? 
• The programme can be chosen freely, with a duration of approximately 15 minutes.
• Candidates may submit one or more YouTube video links.
• The YouTube video links should be submitted directly at the time of registration, but may still be submitted by e-mail up to the registration deadline for the respective competition.
• No new videos will be accepted after the registration deadline.
• The videos will be used for judging in both rounds. Finalists do not have to submit new videos.

What are the legal conditions?
• With their registration, participants allow the organiser to freely dispose of the photo, sound and video recordings submitted to the competition for the purpose of documentation and public relations on its website and social media channels.
• The jury’s decision is final.
• All registration deadlines and dates can be found in the announcement of the respective competition on our website.
• With their registration, the candidates confirm their agreement with the competition conditions.
