Masterclass with Prof. Yamei Yu
On Sunday, May 3, 2026, the day following the International Anton Rubinstein Violin Competition Junior, a masterclass with Prof. Yamei Yu will take place.
The masterclass is aimed at young, ambitious violinists and focuses on artistic maturity, stylistic precision, sound culture, and professional preparation for competitions and concert performances. Prof. Yu combines the highest technical standards with profound musical insight and individual artistic guidance.
Prof. Yamei Yu is a prizewinner of numerous international violin competitions, including the Tibor Varga Competition (Sion), the Louis Spohr Competition (Freiburg), the Leopold Mozart Competition (Augsburg), and the ARD International Music Competition in Munich. As a soloist, she has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Ivor Bolton, Vladimir Jurowski, Kent Nagano, Ulf Schirmer, Sebastian Weigle, and Lord Yehudi Menuhin. Her concert career has taken her to leading international festivals and world-famous concert halls, including the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Vienna Konzerthaus, Wigmore Hall London, and the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid.
Since 2009, Yamei Yu has been Professor of Violin at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf, where she leads a highly successful international violin class. Many of her students are prizewinners of international competitions and hold positions in renowned orchestras. She performs on a Goffriller violin (1730).

Masterclass with Misha Nodelman
On Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, the day after the Violin Junior Competition, a masterclass with Misha Nodelman will take place. Misha Nodelman is a master violinist who has been a part of the Russian musical elite from an early age. His effortless mastery of the violin and profound musicality make every concert with him a memorable event.
Misha Nodelman is the First Concertmaster of the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, an international award winner, and has been an assistant to Prof. Zakhar Bron in Cologne since 2006. Since the winter semester of 2022/23, he has been a violin professor at the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein in Düsseldorf.

Masterclass with Prof. Robin Wilson
On Sunday, May 3, 2026, the day following the International Anton Rubinstein Violin Competition Junior, an exclusive masterclass with Prof. Robin Wilson will take place.
The masterclass is aimed at young violinists who wish to deepen their technical security, musical expressiveness, and stylistic maturity at an international level. Prof. Wilson works intensively on sound production, interpretation, and the development of each participant’s individual musical personality. Prof. Robin Wilson is an internationally renowned violin pedagogue and Professor of Violin at the Royal Academy of Music in London as well as at the Yehudi Menuhin School (UK). In 2023–2024, he served as Visiting Professor at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. He regularly teaches at prestigious international masterclasses and is frequently invited to serve on the jury of major competitions. His students are prizewinners of numerous international competitions and perform in leading orchestras worldwide. In addition to his pedagogical work, he is an active concert violinist and an award-winning researcher in the field of Johannes Brahms performance practice.
