Throughout the day, these outstanding young musicians will perform in the final rounds, showcasing their incredible artistry and dedication. Representing 17 countries, they bring a truly international spirit to our stage.

The official schedule for the International Anton Rubinstein Competition – Violin Junior 2025 is now available online!
On Sunday, May 4th, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM, talented young violinists (up to age 15) will perform live at Haus Goldener Helm in Düsseldorf.

Of course, spontaneous visitors are also warmly welcome throughout the day. Get ready for a day full of music and inspiring young talent!

Masterclass with Misha Nodelman – May 5th, 2025

We are excited to announce a special masterclass with the renowned violinist Misha Nodelman. The class will take place on Monday, May 5th, 2025, the day after the Violin Junior Competition.
Misha Nodelman is currently the First Concertmaster of the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen and an internationally recognized award winner. Since 2006, he has been an assistant to Prof. Zakhar Bron in Cologne, and since the winter semester of 2022/23, he has been a Professor of Violin at the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein in Düsseldorf.

The participation fee for the masterclass is €150.

Next Violin Junior Competition on May 3rd and 4th, 2025 – Live in Düsseldorf!

We are thrilled to announce the next International Anton Rubinstein Competition – Violin Junior 2025, which will take place live in Düsseldorf on May 3rd and 4th, 2025! The Rubinstein Competition offers young violinists a wonderful platform to showcase their talent and compete at an international level.
The Rubinstein Violin Junior Competition aims to discover and nurture young violin talents. Participants will have the opportunity to perform in front of a distinguished jury and an enthusiastic live audience. This competition serves as not only a stepping stone for aspiring musicians but also a celebration of musical excellence and passion.

Great success at the competition

The International Anton Rubinstein Competition for Junior Violin took place with great success on 5 May 2024 at the Anton Rubinstein International Music Academy in Düsseldorf.

Young talents from all over the world competed to demonstrate their skills and win the coveted prizes and awards.
The jury, consisting of renowned musicians such as Michael Blatow, Yury Bondarev and Misha Nodelman, was impressed by the participants’ performances.

Several prizes were awarded in total:

1st prize: Jayda Lu (Australia) and Valerie Bai (USA)
2nd prize: Maelys Lauriac (France)
3rd prize: Raelene Pramana (Indonesia)

Award for outstanding artistic performance and expressiveness: Vlada Pidhirna (Ukraine) and Kai Uemura (Japan)
Award for outstanding interpretation of a work by L. van Beethoven: Aurora Yara Villalobos Salamanca (Germany)
Award for the outstanding interpretation of a romantic work: Cecilia Arnau Toran (Spain)
Award for the outstanding interpretation of a romantic violin concerto: Marianna Pazhik (Poland)
Award for the outstanding interpretation of a work by H. Wieniawski: Estelle Presler (Switzerland)

The organisers of the competition were very satisfied with the performance of the participants and are already looking forward to the next edition in 2025.

Competition program

Dear participants and audience,

We are delighted to welcome you to this year’s Violin Junior Competition. Our programme promises an exciting experience full of talented young musicians.

Here is the programme of the competition.

Date and time: The competition will take place on Sunday, 5 May 2024. We start at 10am with the first 8 participants. A break is planned between 1 and 3 pm to give all participants an opportunity to rest. We will then continue the competition at 3 pm with the remaining participants. The award ceremony is expected to take place around 7 pm.

Location: The competition will take place at the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein, Flingerstrasse 1, 40213 Düsseldorf.

Award ceremony: The award ceremony will be the grand finale of our competition. We will duly honour the winners and their outstanding achievements.

We cordially invite all music lovers to attend this special event and support the young talents. We are looking forward to an inspiring day full of music and emotions!

The finalists of the Violine Junior 2024

The finalists of the Violine Junior 2024 competition have been determined.

In total, 37 talented young violinists from 20 countries applied for this prestigious competition. The jury listened to recordings of highly talented children and teenagers from Australia, Japan, Indonesia, and the USA. The decision was not easy, but our judges managed to select 21 finalists for the final round.

The final will take place live on May 5, 2024, starting at 10 a.m., at the premises of the International Music Academy Anton Rubinstein in Düsseldorf. Admission is free for the audience, and we warmly invite everyone to attend this musical highlight.

We are very much looking forward to the virtuoso performances of these aspiring musicians and are excited to experience their passion and talent.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all participants for their trust and registration. We wish them every success on their musical journey!
